art deco living in san francisco

930 Sutter Street, SF
930 Sutter Street, San Francisco

I should have called earlier.

An apartment in this building opened up last month. I tried to find pictures
but it has already been rented.
I did, however, find this video of
the building's public spaces.

Apparently there is a link to Vertigo
but I don't remember seeing it in the film.
Does anyone know? Leave a comment.

At least the penthouse in the legendary building
filmed for Dark Passage
is still available - for purchase.
The sputtering economy is not reflected
in that pricing.
The Malloch Building, 1360 Montgomery Street, San Francisco
Go look and try not to drool.

Oh man, it seems since I've moved to SF it's popping up everywhere in the films I watch, the latest being a rewatch of Dark Passage, during which I was, of course, drooling over Bacall's swanky abode! But I don't see that extraordinary staircase in the photos provided on the website...

Jesse-
I didn't realize you are now a local- welcome!

Have you been to see the building in person? It really is stunning. It's too bad the photos advertising the penthouse focus mainly on the view OUT the window.

If you want to see some recognizable local sights, watch DOA.
