In the film blog heyday I would've called a challenge for other bloggers to try their hand at posting their images from I Am Cuba. I still offer up the inspiration - if you do post your work let me know and I'll link to you.

accidental abstraction

Although these films have faded quite badly, there is still a lot to appreciate. Isolating these frames reveals a view of swirling celestial settings unnoticed when we focus on the trees and roofline as the film zips through the projector.

Monty Banks is my new hero

I can't believe he survived these stunts.

Silent slapstick films are truly astounding.
