Are you other bloggers getting spammed as much as I am in the comments?
It's reaching epic proportions around here.
I'm tired of clicking on links that take me places no lady would voluntarily go, so
for the next little while at least I'm going to be ruthless about which comments I publish.
If there is no meaningful content relating to that particular post, I will disregard and not publish such comments.
Hopefully this spamming will calm down soon and we can get back to regular social intercourse (hee.)

thank you, your blog is literally a dream come true. also bless you for introducing me to hans dreier and van nest polglase. dreier's designs for monte carlo seem strikingly similar to that of vienna secession designers and architects, namely joseph maria olbrich and dagobert peche, but no doubt his is an original interpretation. your precious collection of photographs have helped me bridge the gap between popular and fine art.
Good idea. I had to rachet up the moderation on my blog, too. You are much admired. I comment here occasionally to repeat my thanks and cheer for more.
I've just started getting spam again after not getting anything for months. Very frustrating!
Curious. Are you getting comments in a foreign language? I am. When I track them back, they seem to be from China or Japan.

Thank you! I'm not familiar with Peche but I love Olbrich and Otto Wagner and of course Mackintosh. I'd love to find footage of Hotel Tassel!
There is no doubt that film is the seventh art.

Thank you too!
Re spamming:
It started off as blocks of foreign type. Then I noticed cryptic comments with links embedded within the characters. Sometimes there were authors and sometimes just anonymous.
They often hit older posts.
I get dizzy trying to decipher the scrambled letters so I haven't enacted that security gate. I'm hoping if I remain hyper-vigilant this'll soon die down. Recently they have been relentless in their assault!
