Dave Kehr, that fount of knowledge about silent cinema (all cinema, actually) recommended Two Timid Souls on his blog this week.

If you haven't seen it, I would recommend Prince Achmed. It's magical.

The Kid Brother is my favorite Harold Lloyd film. I love the Unknown and the Adventures of Prince Achmed and can't wait to see them on the big screen for the first time. I didn't really warm to the Man Who Laughs on DVD, but I'm excited to give it another shot with Clark Wilson behind the organ at the Castro. Of course I'm dying to see Jujiro since I've been researching it. The others are all enticing enough that I'm having trouble picturing what I might skip, as an opportunity to rest my eyes for a bit during the weekend. For the first time, I might see everything at the festival...

Thanks all.
I would love to see everything too, but realistically I'll need to rest my eyes -oh, and eat.

I thought I could give "Man Who Laughs" a miss, but now I'm hearing rumors about Guy Maddin having more involvement than just selecting it for his Director's Pick....

You must mean the Unknown. When I talked with Maddin about My Winnipeg last week he told me he's going to be reciting the English translations of the intertitles- the print being shown comes from a European archive and has intertitles in another language- I want to say French but don't entirely trust my memory.

You are right, thanks for the correction.
And I heard the intertitles are in German....
